Infectious Disease and Wound Management

There is a growing scarcity of novel and effective broad-spectrum antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial infections.  Wound management is often a large part of many podiatric medical practices and it can be a great concern and problem for your patients.

Join us to learn about one piece of your treatment array that you may not know about yet.  NUZYRA® (omadacycline), approved by the FDA, is a once-daily oral and intravenous antibiotic for the treatment of adults with Community-Acquired Bacterial Pneumonia (CABP) and Acute Bacterial Skin and Skin Structure Infection (ABSSSI) caused by select susceptible microorganisms.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is life-threatening, costly and present in every country in the world and our sponsor, Paratek, is working to fight this AMR world-wide problem.

Our speaker is Dino Delaportas, M.D., an infectious disease specialist, who is particularly skilled in treating all infections, including pneumonia, abdominal sepsis and infections of the kidneys and bladder. He is also trained and certified in managing chronic and difficult infected wounds.  Dr. Delaportas is Board Certified by the American Board of Infectious Diseases and practices at Mon Health Medical Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
